Yesterday I found a few new tangles that I wanted to try out. I grabbed a piece of paper that already had the color washed on it. I tried to work with the color changes instinctively. To finish it up, I added just a little bit of pencil shading. Ta - da!

Thanks for following!

I am so excited to be connecting with so many talented folks! I was introduced to blogging in June of 2009 by an incredibly creative lady at Random Arts. Blogging/Following has become a great way to find motivation without leaving the comforts of home. I have also discovered a great Flickr Zentangle group with tons of uploads daily! So if you want to see the progress of this finished piece, link on over.

Starry Eyed Surprise!

Yesterday I planned on making a mandala Zentangle - things did not go as "planned" - which I think is the point of making these tangles, to re-act to what is happening on the paper and NOT worry about the out come. I am pleased with the outcome, it just is not a full mandala.
While searching blogs, I came across these words:

"It's about the Process, NOT the Product."

The product is just a happy side effect to the process happening in your mind.  When we let go of the ego and relax into the process, we yield amazing results.

While I do not consider this an amazing piece, it is rather pleasing. I am submitting it to another blog which has a weekly Zentangle challenge. Enjoy!

Simple tile

Simplicity

Laura Harms is offering weekly challenges on her blog. The first one posted (December 20) was called simplicity. Rather interesting since many tangles are anything but simple - which might be the point. I subscribed to a magazine last year called "Real Simple." When my first issue arrived, I had to laugh. It must have had 200 pages to it. Simple? The largest magazine I have ever seen. So, how can something be simple and need 200 pages a month?
I guess simple is a matter of perspective.

2011 tangle

Thanks to football and cold weather . . . finished this project:

Hope to make this into a card and get them in the mail for some calligraphy friends of mine.

As a little incentive . . . if you let me know of someone you have introduced my blog to, and they sign up to follow, I will send you a snail mail of the card with a hand lettered envelope! So spread the word of my new blog and get a little something for yourself!
Happy New Year!
